Clear separation of light and dark

Reward exploration and offer multiple options

Utilize “out of bounds” areas in the environment to create opportunities for eavesdropping

Designate clear hiding spots/safe zones

Position guards strategically to create an order of operations

Allow players to manipulate the environment to create new stealth paths

Facilitate cleverness with delayed rewards

Utilize the full space via verticality, parallax

Give players a safe place to plan their first move when first entering a stealth section

I analyzed the stealth sections of the Metro Franchise and created a list of best practices as well as archetypes and building blocks which the design team could use to craft interesting and diverse stealth gameplay sections.

I experimented and iterated on different metrics that work best in VR for a variety of body types to guide our asset and level building decisionmaking. I then created documentation for these principles which became the foundations for all of our levels.
